Sponsored by the NW Selects All Female Hockey Program
Saturday & Sunday June 23 - 24 at
Everett's New Rink
Coach - Debbie Strome
June 24, 2007 Everett, Washington. The NWS first mini-camp of the season was a huge success. Girls from Washington, Oregon, and Idaho were there. Power skating coach, Debbie Strome from Calgary headed up an all star line-up of coaches who included:
- Brooke Whitney - Two time All-American & Patty Kazmaier Award Winner
- Monica Kolb - former Ohio State DI player & NWS Coach
- Teka Parks - former Concordia DIII player & NWS Coach
- Michelle Johansson - Former Princeton DI player and NWS Board Member
The camp focused on the individual technical skating instruction, dry land and classroom sessions. The girls did their dry land training with a local professional training facility who trains teams like Everett's Silver Tips, then had lectures on nutrition from a certified nutritionist, and college recruiting and what it take to go to the next level, by brooke Whitney.
The girls hit the ice for 7 hours of intense skating and form development with Debbie Strome and the Comcast Arena in Everett. They were each video taped and analyzed by Coach Strome and learned proper form and speed generating techniques.
Everyone left Everett, smarter and better skaters ... and happy with the new friends they had made along the way.
