Our Mission is to develop a long-lasting tradition of competitive hockey in the Pacific Northwest for the female athlete that fosters their development and exposure to upper level women’s hockey and recruitment by our nation’s best college hockey programs.
The NW Selects started its girls program in 2005 and have been go strong ever since. Our players are some of the most skilled players in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Nevada and we play in the highest profile tournaments available. |
|
This summer the NWS will also be kicking off its Introductory Program. The program will be made available to 4-8 year old girls who want to give hockey a try.
The NWS have purchased 20 sets of hockey equipment through the One Goal program and will make it available to camp attendees as part of the fee structure.
The camps will feature 4 sessions across 4 weeks. Each session will split the ice by skater ability, so everyone can learn at their own pace. Local NWS coaches, alumni and current U19 players will be on hand to instruct the girls ... and have a ball doing it.
More details will be available soon. |

NW Selects summer camps are a great way to keep sharp in the summer, while learning new skills along the way. NWS Camps are exclusively for females and feature some of the best coaches available. Everyone is welcome, no matter where you play in-season.
NW Selects camps are structured so that they are completed in one weekend with only one night stay, if you are traveling. Players get 8 hours of ice time, 2 hours of dry-land training, 1 hour of classroom instruction ... and a lot of fun.
The dates are:
- Kent, Washington (July 19 - 20) This camp is for all female players who have basic skating skills. Coaches will include former players and NW Select Coaches. There are no age restrictions for the camp, but we will be holding the number of skaters to 30, so sign-up soon.
- Tri-Cities (August 9 - 10) This camp is designed for the younger female player, ages 5 - 14. A strong emphases will be placed on skating & stick handling skill development ... and fun. Coaches will include former players and NW Select Coaches Candace Scott, Kim Lynch and Chantelle Russell. The camp will be limited to 30 skaters.
- Portland (August 16 - 17) The final camp of the season will be for all female players and will be run by Coach Tom Peart, Augsburg College. Tom has run our Portland camp for 2 years now and everyone loves his ability to teach hockey in a positive environment. Other NW Selects coaches will assist. The camp will be limited to 30 skaters.
Attendees compare NWS mini-camps to any camp in the country for quality of coaching, cost per hour of ice and overall experience ... and they keep on coming back year after year.
Registration will be available by June 1st. All registrations will be online and we encourage payment through PayPal, however payment at the event is acceptable. |

Augsburg College is holding a week-long camp on June 29th to July 3rd on its Minneapolis Minnesota campus. The players will be skating in the two on-campus rinks and living in the dorms during the camp.
Augsburg coach Tom Peart will be running the camp and current players will be in charge of the girls' off-ice activities.
Augsburg has world class rinks and work-out facilities where players can not only gain excellent coaching and skill development, but also interact with college level players who can give them first hand knowledge and experiences that will help them improve their game.
Transportation to and from the airpo8rt will be provided by camp personnel. For more information, click here for a camp brochure, or email Tom Peart direct. Mention that you play for NWS and get a 10% discount off of the already low price of $350. |
